County Council promotes online accessibility

If you can’t visit your Pierce County Council members in person, there are now a couple ways to see what they’re up to online.

Streaming video available on the County Council’s home page — http://www.piercecountywa.gov/council — lets visitors watch past council meetings, learn about key local issues and view recent Pierce County news stories aired on the county’s government-access channel, C-RCC. It’s a way to make council programming and meetings available when they’re needed, say councilmembers.

Online council meetings are available at http://www.bottech.net/Meetings.htm or can be linked from the council’s home page, and are made possible by a partnership with the county’s Boys & Girls Clubs. Stories from each week’s Pierce County News program and “Council Corner” feature shows can be found under “Videos” on each council member’s Web page.

Pierce County News and Council Corners are produced by the staff of C-RCC and can be seen on channels 22 and 78 throughout Pierce County. A live Webcast of the channel is available at http://www.piercecountywa.gov/pc/abtus/ourorg/council/tv.htm .

The County Council meets Tuesdays at 3 p.m. in the County-City Building, 930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 1045, in Tacoma. It also conducts one evening meeting a year in each of the seven council districts.
