Tacoma residents can enjoy free admission to Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium on Weds., Feb. 20.
The free day is offered as a thank-you to Tacoma voters, who in 1999 approved a $35 million bond issue to pay for Zoo improvements. There have been lots of new additions since then including the Kids Zone childrens area, the five-acre Asian Forest Sanctuary, Wild Wonders Outdoor Theater, and a new front entrance, gift shop, and cafe
To qualify for free admission on Feb. 20, visitors must reside within Tacoma city limits and bring proof of residency, such as a utility bill or photo ID with current address.
