Woman files suit for alleged rape

A woman who said Tacoma’s Police Chief David Brame raped her in the late-1980s filed a $2 million claim with the City of Tacoma, saying the city failed to properly investigate her complaint.

Sylvia Boskovich said Brame raped her during a dinner date at his home, 13 years before being promoted to chief. No charges were filed against him.
She said she learned about the city’s conspiracy to obstruct justice in her case during an investigation that followed Brame’s fatal shooting of his estranged wife and himself.

She said the city did not engage in due process and violated her rights with the police department’s internal investigation.

The city has 60 days to respond to Boskovich’s claim before the case can go to court.
