UPDATE | Weds., July 10 @ 3:25 p.m. — Tacoma Regional Convention and Visitor Bureau Marketing and Communications Assistant Grace Reid adds the following via e-mail: “We have been going through a rebranding process over the past year to develop a destination message that is focused on the visitor. We surveyed overnight hotel guests and residents to find what makes Pierce County unique from our competitors and hosted several focus groups with community members to dig deeper into the survey results. The process helped us create a destination promise, essence, and personality. These became the groundwork for our new brand and all future steps of our marketing, organizational, investment and development decisions. They define our key assets and what sets us apart from our regional competitors.”
