UW Tacoma workshop explores non-profit funding opportunities

Non-profit organizations on the hunt for money in these hard economic times are invited to attend a free workshop at the University of Washington Tacoma Library on Thurs., June 23.

Campus Library staff will teach participants how to search for funders by using the Foundation Directory Online database. The session will cover techniques and shortcuts to use the database, as well as other information resources and tools to support grant proposals.

Anyone interested in finding foundations to support their non-profit projects and organizations is welcome to participate. It’s a great opportunity to learn about this enormous database, which the public can search for free at the UW Tacoma Library.

The workshop will be 9 a.m. to noon in room 109 of the Science Building. The campus is at 1900 Commerce St. in Tacoma. Participants should bring a memory stick to save searches and foundation profiles. To register, e-mail librarian Anna Salyer at anna3@uw.edu .
