Umpqua Bank picks leader for Tacoma operations

Umpqua Bank has appointed Richard “Dick” Pickett as senior vice president and manager of Commercial Banking. Pickett will also serve as a member of Umpqua Bank’s senior leadership team and report directly to Danielle Burd, executive vice president and Washington state commercial regional manager.

Pickett is based in Tacoma and will be responsible for leading Umpqua Bank’s commercial services in the southern Puget Sound region. Pickett has more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Before joining Umpqua, Pickett served as the vice president of business banking for the former Rainier Pacific Bank. The banking operations of Rainier Pacific Bank were acquired by Umpqua Bank in February. Pickett is a lifelong Washington resident and active member of the Puget Sound community. He is currently a board member for the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts and The Nonprofit Center. Additionally, Pickett previously worked with the United Way of Clallam County, the Tacoma/Pierce County Chamber of Commerce, the Tacoma Symphony and the Pierce County YMCA. He is a graduate of Washington State University.
