Tacoma Avenue South bridge open
After a nearly 16 month closure, the Tacoma Avenue South Bridge (located between Center and Delin streets) is open to all vehicular, bicycle and pedestrian traffic.
The closure was necessary to reconstruct the bridge deck, guardrails, replace the girders and paint the steel members of the over 80-year-old bridge. Traffic lanes have also been re-configured to three vehicular lanes and two bicycle lanes and wider sidewalks were added.
The bridge was opened for all traffic on June 16. Some minor remaining work will require some lane closures and possibly short term bridge closures.
