Traffic signal work will affect Aug. 9 commute on SR 161

Motorists who normally make the morning commute on Meridian Avenue (State Route 161) near 152nd Street in the South Hill area should expect significant delays on Tuesday, August 9.

Crews will turn off the current traffic signal system and replace it with a new system at that intersection. WSDOT expects traffic to be affected in both directions of SR 161 until approximately noon and recommends that motorists take alternate routes if possible.

Washington State Patrol will provide traffic control through the intersection.
The signal revision work is part of WSDOT safety improvement projects on SR 161 stretching from 128th to 234th streets.
