TPU hires sustainability manager

Former Seattle City Light Strategic Advisor Lisa Rennie is now Tacoma Public Utilities’ new sustainability policy manager.

Rennie will work toward continuing Tacoma Public Utilities’ sustainability efforts while it efficiently and effectively provides utility services to customers. She will help set sustainability goals and work to ensure that the organization meets them. Rennie also will participate in policy and legislative discussions related to climate change and other environmental impact areas. She will serve as the liaison to the City of Tacoma General Government’s Sustainability Office.

Rennie worked for Seattle City Light for more than 12 years. She served as a strategic advisor for governmental and legislative affairs, focusing specifically on energy policy. Rennie earned her Master of Arts degree from Seattle University and graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She began her career in the Washington State Senate, worked for the state House of Representatives and served as the member services director for the Washington Public Utility Districts Association.
