Three organizations awarded Rusty George Creative grants

Downtown graphic design and advertising firm Rusty George Creative this week announced the recipients of the company’s Creative Grants for 2008. The company has provided pro-bono and discounted services to nonprofits in Tacoma and Pierce County for almost a decade. But 2008 is the first year that its giving has been managed through a formal grant application process, the goal of which was to make a significant and meaningful difference for three local organizations. Twenty-nine qualified organizations submitted applications, each seeking up to $25,000 in graphic design and advertising services. All employees at Rusty George Creative were involved in the selection process, choosing as a team which organizations to support during the 2008 calendar year.
“Selecting from this group of highly qualified applicants was not easy,” according to principal Rusty George. “Most have proven records of delivering high impact services in our community and share core values with our company. Our team chose with an eye for selecting diversity in the causes and committing to projects with creative potential.”
The following organizations have been awarded Rusty George Creative Grants for 2008:
The Grand Cinema — The Grand is the only cinema in Pierce County that plays art house films including foreign films, documentaries and limited release studio films and has a mission of enhancing the cultural vitality of the community through the art of film.
