Dr. Pamela J. Transue, president of Tacoma Community College (TCC), will receive the Phi Theta Kappa torch during a ceremony Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. in recognition of the schools Phi Theta Kappa chapter, and as a pre-cursor to Phi Theta Kappas upcoming international conference. Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society for two-year colleges. Torches are being passed throughout each region and will be used to light a main torch at Phi Theta Kappas international conference, slated for April 20-22 in Seattle. John Lynch, Phi Theta Kappa regional president, will bring the torch from Kelso and pass it to Dr. Transue. The Torch Run is a traditional pre-cursor to Phi Theta Kappas international conference.
