    Alaskan Way Viaduct
Bertha, the world's largest tunneling machine, arrives in Seattle's Elliott Bay on April 2, 2013, following a 5,000-mile journey from Osaka, Japan. Crews will unload her 41 pieces (the largest weighing about 900 tons) and move them to the 80-foot-deep pit to the west of Seattle's stadiums, where Bertha will begin tunneling in summer 2013.
