The City of Tacoma’s purchasing division is moving to temporary quarters to accommodate remodeling of the Tacoma Public Utilities (TPU) Administration Building North. Effective July 18, purchasing operations will be conducted from offices located in the TPU Warehouse Building, 3628 S. 35th St.

Hand-carried bid submittals must be delivered to purchasing in the new location beginning July 18. The city advises people to allow for extra time to get through security and become familiar with the revised process. No change is required for submittals delivered via mail, fax or by commercial agents such as UPS or FedEx.

Beginning Tues., July 22, City of Tacoma public sealed-bid openings will be held in the Warehouse North Conference Room located in the TPU Warehouse Building, next to the temporary purchasing office. The conference room is accessible through the purchasing entrance. Access to the warehouse is through the guard station, located at the corner of S. 35th St. and Union Avenue, near the pay station. A limited number of short-term parking spaces are available in Lot D, adjacent to the warehouse building. Additional parking may be found on S. 35th St. in Lots B, C and G.
