The Washington State Republican Party has announced the 2012 State Republican Convention will be held in Tacoma from May 31 through June 2. The State GOP Convention takes place every two years and is the largest gathering of Republicans in Washington State. This year, over 1,700 delegates, alternates and guests attended the 2010 State Convention in Vancouver. Because the 2012 election cycle will feature a presidential election, as well as a race for governor and for U.S. Senator, the party anticipates even higher attendance and enthusiasm. This will be the first State Republican Convention in Pierce County in 25 years.
