Tacoma remembers 9/11

The Tacoma Fire Department honored the victims of 9/11 at a public remembrance ceremony Tuesday morning at the Firefighter’s Memorial along Ruston Way in Tacoma. The ceremony marked the eleventh anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States of America on Sept. 11, 2001. It was part of a nationwide salute to firefighters, police, emergency medical services workers and civilians who lost their lives that day. The program included speeches by Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland and Tacoma Interim Fire Chief James P. Duggan.
