Tacoma Power is giving out compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) at three upcoming events to show that there’s an energy-efficient bulb for almost every fixture in the house. CFLs last up to 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs and use 75 percent less energy, making them a smart lighting choice. Tacoma Power’s instant discounts and special offers at the events make them a great deal, too. At the events, people can exchange up to five incandescent bulbs for like CFLs, buy qualified CFLs and get one free like CFL (up to 10), and enjoy fun activities related to energy-efficient lighting. The events will be held at the following dates / times / locations: Sat., Oct. 8, Home Depot, 7050 Tacoma Mall Blvd., Tacoma; Sat., Oct. 15, Home Depot, 4602 Center St., Tacoma; and Sat., Nov. 5, Lowe’s, 2701 S. Orchard. St., Tacoma. For more information, including a list of specific bulbs that can be exchanged, visit http://www.KnowYourpower.com/events .
