Tacoma Poet Laureate Josie Emmons Tuner will host a free poetry workshop on July 16 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Fort Nisqually Museum at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. The workshop, titled “Place and Persona,” will examine the writing of poetry from the viewpoint of an imaginary person. Participants will explore Fort Nisqually and the surrounding area of the park and write and share draft poems. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
