Tacoma gets positive spotlight

After a rash of scandals and negative publicity, the City of Tacoma is about to see a welcome change: the national spotlight on some things it does right.
The city will be honored in the nation’s capital next week as one of the most livable communities nationwide.

Mayor Bill Baarsma has tentative interviews lined up with Barron’s Business & Financial Weekly, Governing Magazine, the Kiplinger Washington Letter and other publications, as well as other appearances.

The city had already had some positive attention last week when it was featured in USA Today, with Tacoma-Pierce County being one of 30 areas honored by Partners for Livable Communities.
