Residents of Tacoma are invited to join Tacoma Fire for a dedication of new Fire Engine No. 10 at a traditional “Housing Ceremony.” The ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. on Tues., March 30, at Station No. 10, located at 7247 South Park Ave. The outgoing Engine No. 10 has proudly served the South End Neighborhood since 1996, traveling a remarkable 201,428 miles on over 50,000 calls in its service lifetime. The new Engine No. 10, a Darley Custom Pumper on a Spartan Gladiator Chassis, includes state-of-the-art safety features, is compliant with Environmental Protection Agency emission and fuel conservation standards and has computer-aided pump controls for the water supply, which are designed to increase dependability and efficiency.
