Tacoma City Council seeks volunteers for Planning Commission

The City of Tacoma’s Planning Commission seeks volunteers to fill three openings — one available representing Council District No. 1, one representing the development community and one with expertise in public transportation — for a 3-year term from July 1, 2011, to June 30, 2014. The development community and the public transportation positions are open for citizens citywide. The Council District No. 1 position is specifically for those who reside in Council District No. 1 (West End and North End). The Planning Commission advises the City Council on issues related to the City’s Comprehensive Plan, mixed-use centers development, land use and development regulations, transportation, capital facilities and other long- and short-range planning studies.
