State awards more than $24 million for low-income housing projects

The state Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development (CTED) recently awarded more than $24 million for 29 housing projects in 13 counties across the state. Projects will be funded in Clallam, Douglas, King, Lincoln, Pierce, Thurston, Skagit, Snohomish, Spokane, Walla Walla, Whatcom, Whitman and Yakima counties.

Funds were awarded from the Housing Trust Fund.  The Housing Trust Fund supports community efforts to ensure the availability of safe, decent and affordable housing by providing loans and grants for construction, acquisition and rehabilitation of low-income multi-family and single-family housing. Since 1989, the Housing Trust Fund has invested more than $400 million in new and improved housing, leveraging $1.6 billion in private and public sector support, supporting more than 25,000 units of affordable housing throughout Washington State.

Habitat for Humanity – Tacoma/Pierce County – Reynolds Park, Pierce County

Multi Service Center – Rainier View Senior Apartments, Pierce County
