The Tacoma Historical Society and the Lakewood Historical Society will celebrate our local military heritage and commemorate the centennial of World War I during a special event in October. Salute Pierce County will include a buffet dinner, music, displays, and guest speakers. Proceeds from the event will help fund both Societies’ efforts to protect, preserve, and promote our local history. The event will be held on Sun., Oct. 19, at 4 p.m. at the American Lake Conference Center, located at 8085 NCO Beach Road, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
