Members of the Council are scheduled Dec. 18 to consider a resolution that would authorize a memorandum of agreement with the Port of Tacoma for $100,000 and a memorandum of understanding with the City, the Port of Tacoma and the City of Fuzhou, China for the implementation of the Trade Representative Pilot Program. The City of Fuzhou in the Fujian Province of China has been the City of Tacoma’s Sister City since 1995. There have been many delegation exchanges and a mutual desire to capitalize on the Sister City relationship by expanding and strengthening trade and economic ties between the two cities.
