Recovered substance abusers needed in advisory role

The Pierce County Human Services Department is seeking interested persons to fill volunteer positions on the Chemical Dependency Advisory Board.

The board assists and advises Pierce County on matters relating to the development and operation of publicly funded substance abuse treatment and prevention services and acts as an advocacy body to promote the interests of recipients of these services.

Positions are open to individuals residing in Pierce County who have an interest in issues related to substance abuse treatment and prevention. Recovered substance abusers are encouraged to apply. The board also welcomes applicants from all minority groups. Representatives from the Asian/Pacific Islander and Native American communities are particularly needed at this time.
