Puyallup Fair organizers seek to fill jobs

The Puyallup Fair is still in need of hundreds of employees to work at the Puyallup Fair, running Sept. 7-23. There is currently a large surplus of available jobs, far exceeding the number of applicants. Those interested should apply to the Washington State WorkSource Office at the Fair as soon as possible.

Job opportunities including restaurant service, retail sales, ride operations, barn work and game booth operation.

Qualified individuals may apply in person at the Fair’s Washington State WorkSource Employment Office located at the Red Gate near the Sky Ride Station (9th Ave. SW near 4th St. SW). The Employment Office is open weekdays 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

To qualify, applicants must be at least 16 years of age. Applicants must also show picture ID and proof of legal right to work, such as security card or alien registration card. Most jobs will pay minimum wage ($7.93/hour). A total of 3,000 job openings will be available.

The Puyallup Fair first started in 1900. This Pacific Northwest tradition features top name entertainment, the PRCA Rodeo, animals, agriculture, rides, exhibits, food, and flowers.
