The City of Tacoma Human Rights and Human Services Commission will host six public forums at various locations throughout the city to discuss adding sexual orientation and gender identity as protected classes to the city’s official code.
At the forums, citizens can learn more about the draft ordinance and provide comments to the commission.
After the forums, a summary and recommendation will be made to the City Council by the commission.
All forums listed below will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
– Monday, March 18 – Centre at Norpoint, 4818 Nassau Ave.
– Tuesday, March 19 – University of Puget Sound, Student Union Building, Room 101, 1500 N. Union St.
– Wednesday, March 20 – Martin Luther King Housing Development Association, 1023 Martin Luther King Jr. Way
– Thursday, March 21 – South End Neighborhood Center, 7802 S. L St.
– Monday, March 25 – Sixth Avenue Fire Station, 7217 Sixth Ave.
– Wednesday, March 27 – Mottlet Library, 3523 E. G St.
