Port to consider $800,000 contract for Lincoln Avenue grade separation construction

At its regular noon meeting Feb. 7, Port of Tacoma commissioners will consider an $800,000 contract for the third phase of construction on a Lincoln Avenue grade separation. The grade separation is one of 10 priority FAST Corridor Phase II projects aimed to improve freight mobility. According to the port, roadway improvements associated with the grade separation were completed a few months ago, and utility relocations are under way. This third phase of construction would extend East 19th Street from its intersection with Thorne Road to provide street access for D&B Trucking. If the Commission authorizes the contract, improvements to East 19th Street should be complete by August. Commission meetings begin at noon (with executive session, if needed, at 11 a.m.) in Room 104 of the Fabulich Center (formerly the Port Business Center), 3600 Port of Tacoma Road in Tacoma.
