The Port of Tacoma has promoted Jeffrey L. Smith, CPA to the position of Senior Director, finance and administration.
Smith, a 17-year Port of Tacoma veteran, most recently served as Acting Senior Director, finance and administration.
Jeff is one of the best kept secrets in the port industry, said Timothy J. Farrell, the Ports Deputy Executive Director. Our port enjoys the finest financial management in the industry. In his new position, Smith will oversee the Ports finance, accounting, budget, treasury and customer service operations.
Smith earned a bachelors degree in business administration and accounting from Washington State University and has been a Certified Public Accountant in Washington state since 1980.
He holds memberships in the Washington Society of CPAs, Government Finance Officers Association, and Washington Public Ports Association.
