“The Port of Olympia is hosting the Fourth Annual Swantown BoatSwap & Chowder Challenge, Saturday, May 20 at Port Plaza on Budd Inlet. The event’s highlights include new and used boats and nautical equipment for sale, and 11 South Sound restaurants competing for finest clam chowder honors. Community booths, entertainment, food and other activities complete the event. Hours for the Olympia event are from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All activities take place at the Port Plaza festival area, just north of Percival Landing and west of the Olympia Farmers Market. Admission to the event is free but there is a charge for chowder tasting. Last year’s winners – DJ Murphy’s, Northwest Grille at Cavanaughs, and The Spar, are back to defend their titles. Other entrants include Anthony’s Homeport, Budd Bay Café, Capital Espresso Grill, Genoas on the Bay, Golden Eagle at Lucky Eagle Casino, Jazmines, Occasions Catering & Special Events and Tugboat Annies.
