Port hires Federal Government Affairs Manager

The Port of Tacoma has selected Stephanie Bowman as Federal Government Affairs Manager. In this position, she manages the Port’s federal legislative agenda and works with elected officials and their staff members on a number of key issues, including transportation, the environment and port security.

“Stephanie brings to the Port a wealth of transportation experience and a deep understanding of the region’s key public policy challenges,” said Julie Collins, the Port’s Director of Economic Development and Governmental Affairs.” Her energetic, innovative and collaborative focus on resolving critical issues will be valuable to the Port and the community.”

Before joining the Port, Bowman worked in community and real estate development for Vulcan Inc. (Seattle). Prior work experience includes more than 10 years managing legislative and political affairs for several organizations, including the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce, the Cascadia Project (Seattle), and numerous ballot initiative campaigns.

A Puget Sound resident for more than 14 years, Bowman earned her Bachelors Degree in Political Science from the University of Idaho (1991).
