Pierce County's population grows

Pierce County’s official 2004 population is 744,000, according to the state Office of Financial Management. The new figure is up 10,300 from last year.

The unincorporated population increased to 339,477 (from 332,980) and the incorporated population increased to 404,523 (from 400,720).

Washington state’s 2004 population is 6,167,800, up from 6,098,300 last year.

The state’s unincorporated population is 2,395,226 (from 2,361,832), and the incorporated population is 3,772,574 (from 3,736,468).
