“Assessor-Treasurer Barbara Gelman is reminding property owners in Pierce County that second-half 1999 property taxes are due on October 31. Because the due date falls on a Sunday, tax payments made in person will be accepted Monday, November 1.Property taxes still unpaid on Tuesday, November 2 will be subject to interest and penalty charges. Mailed payments must be postmarked by the due date to avoid penalty.Payments may be made in person at the following locations:- A/T Office at the County Annex, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.- Budget & Finance Office, 615 South 9th Street, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Taxpayer information may be obtained by using the customer service hotline at 798-6111, the Automated Tax and Land Value Access System, at 798-3333, or at the Assessor-Treasurer website, at www.co.pierce.wa.us/atr.”
