Pacific Office Automation plans summer move from Fife to downtown Tacoma

A massive tenant improvement project is under way in preparation for downtown Tacoma’s newest corporate tenant.

According to commercial real estate broker Tom Brown of Neil Walter Company, Pacific Office Automation, currently located at 5102 20th Street East in Fife, will move into a downtown Tacoma building located at 1114 Pacific Avenue  by July 1. The document imaging and office technology company will occupy approximately 11,300-square-feet in the street-level storefront space. Brown told the Tacoma Daily Index Tuesday morning the landlord is doing a turn-key build-out in preparation for the move.

Pacific Office Automation was founded in 1976 and has 16 locations in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah. In Washington State, the company has offices in Seattle, Everett, Kennewick and Fife (Tacoma).

“It’s a better business move to be downtown,” said an employee at Pacific Office Automation’s Fife location who confirmed the re-location plans but did not wish to be named.
