Open house for Puyallup project

The public is invited to an open house on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., to learn more about the 5th Street-9th Street Connector and Silver Creek restoration project in Puyallup. The open house will be held in the South Meeting Room of the Puyallup Public Library, 324 South Meridian St.

The 5th-9th Connector was developed to create a more direct route on the west side of the fairgrounds. Included in the plans is the conversion of Silver Creek from a pipe to a stream suitable for fish; as well as enhancing and expanding the existing wetland adjacent to Meeker Ditch. This is a joint project with Puyallup and the Western Washington Fair Association.

Representatives from Parametrix, the design team working on the project, will be on hand, as will city and Fair officials.
