Nuisance Cleanup Program could be designated a special project

Members of City Council are scheduled Dec. 4 to consider a resolution that would adopt the Nuisance Cleanup Program, designate the program as a special project of limited duration, and would also authorize the employment of special project employees. These employees would conduct inspections, property and neighborhood cleanups and other related activities. The purpose of the program is to provide for the protection of the health, safety and general welfare of Tacoma’s citizens by utilizing three solid waste components: inspections, property abatements, and neighborhood cleanups.
