New Web site offers family law services

A new Web site – www.onlyfamilylaw.com – offers user friendly, low cost, on-line family law services. The Web site offers much more than the usual self-help of advice, referrals and downloads of documents needed to filed for divorce. For less than $200, the divorcing couple answers simple questions in an easy step-by-step process. Then, the software uses those answers to complete the documents required by the court. There are other family law forms also available including child support and parenting plans.

The site was developed by Margaret Brost, an Olympia family law attorney with 12 years of experience who said, “I want to change the way people use lawyers – not eliminate them from the divorce process.”

Brost suggests that while many people are quite capable of representing themselves in a divorce or other family law matter, a little legal advice can make a big difference in the outcome of a self-help divorce. Along with the “do-it-yourself” option, her site offers a resource directory of lawyers, para-legals, court facilitators, mediators, arbitrators, mental heath professionals, financial advisors, and more.

The site also offers links to free and low cost services, other self-help sites, and lots of information related to family law issues.
