Multiple methods for paying property taxes available

Property owners can now use the Internet to pay property taxes in Pierce County. Payment by telephone will begin shortly. The mailing of 175,000 property tax statements began on Saturday and is scheduled to be completed by this Saturday, Feb. 28.

Assessor-Treasurer Ken Madsen has implemented an electronic payment system to provide taxpayers convenient payment options for taxes due this year.

To pay online, a property owner goes to the Assessor-Treasurer’s Website at www.piercecountywa.org/atr and enters their parcel number. At the Taxes/Values page, credit card and e-check payment options are listed. A link is available to take the taxpayer to the Official Payments Corporation site for secure payment processing. Upon completing the payment, the taxpayer is provided a confirmation number. Payments may not show up on the Assessor-Treasurer’s Website for up to four days.

Beginning March 1, payment by Visa or Mastercard may be made by telephone. Just call the Assessor-Treasurer’s automated telephone system at 253/798-3333, provide your parcel number and follow the voice instructions.
