Its yet another museum for the City of Tacoma.
The public is invited to a ground breaking celebration for the Pioneer Museum of Motorcycles & Conference Center.
Opening in the fall of 2003, the museum will bring to life over a century of motorcycle history, art and culture.
The event is set for Wednesday, Sept. 25, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at 326 East D St., located across from the Thea Foss Waterway.
There will be food, fun and festivities at the event.
Tacoma Mayor Bill Baarsma will be on hand for the ceremony.
There will be a tribal ground blessing.
Motorcycle icons John Burgin and Norm Gerlich will also be present.
Food will be provided by Snuffins Catering and The Upper Crust Catering.
There will be a free limited edition inaugural poster given to the first 100 guests.
Tacoma is quickly gaining a reputation as a city of museums, with the recent opening of the Museum of Glass, as well as the recently approved LeMay automobile museum.
The Tacoma Art Museum plans on moving into it new building, currently under construction on Pacific Avenue, next spring.
