MLK Subarea Plan community workshop March 22

The City of Tacoma is working with residents, businesses, property owners and community organizations to prepare an MLK Subarea Plan and Environmental Impact Statement to encourage development and revitalization in the MLK District in a coordinated fashion and in a manner that reflects the desires, vision and character of this community.

This Subarea Plan and Environmental Impact Statement, which will help guide future development and capital improvements in this area, are being developed in partnership with the community over the next year and are scheduled to be adopted by City Council in early 2013.

A community workshop will be held at McCarver Elementary School, located at 2111 South J St., on Thurs., March 22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for members of the community to share ideas and continue to define what the most important issues are.
