“Microchip Technology, a manufacturer of programmable analog microcontrollers and microperipheralproducts, has announced an agreement for the company to acquire the former Matsushita Semiconductor manufacturing plant in Puyallup.The company’s products are used in automotive, communications, computing, computer and industrial control markets.The 92-acre semiconductor manufacturing complex may bring up to 1,000 new jobs to the area.”
