March Calendar: Clover Park Technical College

Unless otherwise noted, all events will take place on the main campus, 4500 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood.

Mar. 3 — 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., South Hill Campus Open House
CPTC Aviation Training Facility, 17214 110th Ave. E, Puyallup (near the Pierce County Airport at Thun Field). First-hand look at training programs offered at the campus: Professional Pilot, Aviation Maintenance Technician, Massage Studies and Health Unit Coordinator. Refreshments, tours, workshops. Taxi down the runway in a Cessna 402; see a Sabreliner jet used as a training aid. Sit for a chair massage in the Massage Studies clinic. Mar. 9 — Tours beginning at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., Building 17. CPTC Informational Open House. Visit with instructors, 3 p.m. in program training areas. Financial Aid Orientation, 3:45 p.m., Cascade Cafe, Building 15. Hosted by Student Services.

Mar. 12 — 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Pierce County Technology Competition, hosted by CPTC. Organized by Pierce County Information Technology (IT)/Electronics Skill Panel and Pierce County Careers Connections (PC3). Event competition areas include computer hardware and networking and web design Event design to encourage Pierce County students to consider high-tech careers. During the competition, high school and college students will problem solve in scenarios modeled after situations they might encounter working in the IT field. Mar. 18 — 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., CPTC Automotive Education Training Center (AETC) Rotunda, Building 3. Interior Design Students’ Portfolio Walk
Visitors will have a chance to network with students, faculty, graduates and industry representatives and review the final portfolio work created by graduating Interior Design students. Mar. 22 — 3 p.m. – 5 p.m., Building 20. Dedication of the Hayes Child Development Center. Following the dedication, there will be tours of $2,300,000 building built with a combination of private donations and matching state grants. Special guests will include Phil Hayes, former chair of the CPTC Board of Trustees, and his wife, Sally, who donated $500,000.
