The Pierce County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee will consider Visit Rainier’s proposal for lodging tax funds when it meets in special session June 18. The meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Department of Community Services, 3602 Pacific Ave., Suite 200, Tacoma. Visit Rainier operates an Internet reservation and information site for Mount Rainier and has received lodging tax funds in past years. The organization’s proposal includes marketing and promoting its Website and hiring a public relations consultant.
The 10-member advisory committee is chaired by Pierce County Councilmember Roger Bush and includes representatives of the hospitality industry and organizations promoting tourism within the county.
