Legislators from the 28th and 29th districts will discuss the state budget shortfall and possible remedies at Pierce College Fort Steilacoom in Lakewood on Monday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m.
Budget forecasters predict at least a $2.5 billion shortfall in the 2003-2005 budget, unless revenues are increased, programs are cut or both.
Representatives Gigi Talcott, Mike Carrell, Steve Conway and Steve Kirby will participate in the forum, titled Budget Dilemma 2003: The $2.5 billion question.
They will share their views about budget balancing strategies for the upcoming legislative session and answer questions from the audience.
The free event, sponsored by the Associated Student Body of Pierce College Fort Steilacoom, will be held in the Performance Lounge of the Cascade Building.
