Latest webisode of Inspired Palates features Tacoma resident and local Vegan Chef Niombi Howell

The City of Tacoma’s Media and Communications Office – in partnership with its Community and Economic Development Department – has released a new webisode of Inspired Palates featuring Tacoma resident and local vegan chef Niombi Howell who, along with her daughter, Afi, runs Quickie Too in Tacoma’s Hilltop neighborhood. Niombi Howell has lived and worked in Tacoma since 1972.

Inspired Palates pays tribute to Tacoma’s creative culinary canvas, which has broadened and diversified over the years to help put Tacoma on the map. It primarily highlights independent Tacoma-based purveyors of craft food or drinks, many of whom incorporate high quality ingredients based on regional or seasonal availability. It also provides insight into emerging culinary trends in Tacoma, a city where authenticity inspires creativity, innovation and progress.

Part of the City’s ongoing efforts to promote Tacoma, Inspired Palates draws upon subject-driven storytelling opportunities within the local community.

Ideas for future Inspired Palates webisodes can be submitted to the City by posting a food photo on social media with location tagged using #InspiredPalates, or by contacting Maria Lee at maria.lee@cityoftacoma.org or (253) 591-2054.
