Incubator selects new Assistant Director

Colleen Hall Barta has been promoted to Assistant Director for the non-profit William M. Factory Small Business Incubator, which assists in the startup and expansion of small business enterprises.

Hall Barta has spent the past two years as the Business Development Manager for the Incubator.

In May, the Incubator was selected as the 2005 National Business Incubation Association “Incubator of the Year.” According to Reverend Arthur Banks, Immediate Past Chair, “Colleen really pushed hard to make sure we met all the necessary criteria for the award. She is always putting the Incubator and its client companies in the forefront. Her persistence and dedication secured this new position for her.”

In addition to her duties to serve 33 client companies, Hall Barta will coordinate activities for the proposed 21,300-square-foot Incubator Expansion Project, which will double the capacity of the Incubator and heighten her presence in the community through increased outreach activities.

Hall Barta is also the Washington State representative to the west coast Pacific Innovation Network, and serves on the organizing committee for the 2007 International Conference on Business Incubation.
