Historic W. W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory celebrates spring

Visitors to the Seymour Conservatory in Tacoma’s Wright Park will be greeted by a profusion of scents and a rainbow of colors as the historic location ushers in spring.

Amazing glass art pieces made locally by Hilltop Artists in Residence will be displayed throughout the months of April and May among the springtime flowers and the permanent collection of more than 250 plant species.

Hilltop Artists in Residence is a non-profit established in Tacoma in 1994 with the help of Dale Chihuly and is dedicated to serving youth in the community. Glass art made by HART will be available for purchase for visitors who would like to own one of these beautiful pieces while supporting Tacoma’s youth.

Along with the glass art, visitors will also enjoy the display of fragrant lilies and colorful hydrangeas and azaleas, some of which grow as trees up to six feet tall.

This stunning display is part of a spring tradition which can be enjoyed until the end of April.

On April 11 from 1 to 2:30 pm enjoy live music among the flowers during the Conservatory’s Second Sunday Music Series. Performances by a variety of acoustic musicians are a regular feature on the second Sunday of every month.

The Conservatory gift shop offers a wide selection of spring basket goodies.
