Harborstone Names 1999 Employees of the YearCredit Union Honors Four Exceptional Workers for Service

“Harborstone Credit Union has named Eydie Stephens, Reynette Magaoay, Zane LaBonte and Sue Roberts as its 1999 employees of the year. The award is based on individual achievements in the areas of sales, service and support.Stephens is a cashier support specialist at the McChord Air Force Base office. She received the sales award for her outstanding performance. Her accomplishments included achieving 481 sales product referrals. The referrals resulted in 201 closed products – a 42 percent closure rate.Stephens’ coaching skills helped her staff average 234 referrals with 134 closures, achieving a 57 percent average closure ratio.The 1999 service award was presented to Magaoay, a member service representative at the Lakewood office. She originated over $3.1 million in IRA accounts, placing her as one of the top performers for the organization.Magaoay also assisted the Lakewood cashier department and the Fife office during their most busy days by completing over 7,500 teller transactions.LaBonte is a residential mortgage officer in Harborstone’s mortgage department. She received a support award for her superior contributions throughout the year. 1999 was a profitable year for the credit union in the mortgage refinancing arena and LaBonte’s lending skills helped with Harborstone’s first mortgage origination totals of over $32 million. She also trained two new mortgage loan officers and tested new mortgage origination software.Roberts is one of the credit unions accounts control officers. She received a support award for her superior work throughout the year. Her involvement and commitment to the credit union’s corporate goals were cited as helping reduce Harborstone’s delinquencies by 13 percent.Company officials said Roberts approaches her responsibilities with a positive attitude and is committed to assisting individual members help themselves.The awards are given annually to Harborstone employees who consistently perform above and beyond their job responsibilities. Nominated by their supervisors, managers, or executive management, recognized employees are said to demonstrate their achievements by providing exceptional service to members and co-workers continuously.”
