Get involved in Tacoma’s architectural heritage – volunteer for commission

The Tacoma City Council is inviting qualified individuals to apply for vacant positions on the Landmarks Preservation Commission. Prospective applicants should have a basic familiarity with historic preservation issues and a demonstrated interest.

The Landmarks Commission is currently seeking applications for the position of architect, open to professionally qualified architects currently residing or working within Tacoma.
The Landmarks Preservation Commission oversees the establishment and regulation of landmarks, landmark sites and historic districts. Commission meetings are held at 5 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month.

The Commission is comprised of 15 citizen volunteers who serve three-year terms. Members are recommended for appointment by the Council Appointments Committee and confirmed by the City Council. For more information, visit http://www.tacomaculture.org .
