The Tacoma office of the Department of Revenue is holding a free New Business Outreach workshop to help people with new and small businesses understand how to report their state taxes.
The workshop will be held on Nov. 14, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the Lakewood Library, 6300 Wildaire Rd. S.W., Lakewood.
Revenue staff members will explain the states excise taxes and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about how taxes specifically apply to their businesses.
Tax reporting classifications, deductions and sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements will also be discussed.
Participants will receive a workbook which answers the most common questions asked by owners of businesses, as well as copies of department rules and regulations.
For those who wish to do so, there will be an opportunity to volunteer for tax consultation visits to ensure proper reporting.
