The Tacoma office of the Department of Revenue is holding a free New Business Outreach workshop to help new and small businesses understand how to report their state taxes.
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, March 13, from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Lakewood Library, 6300 Wildaire Rd. SW, Lakewood.
Revenue staff members will explain the states excise taxes and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about how taxes specifically apply to their businesses.
Tax reporting classifications, deductions, and sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements will also be discussed.
New businesses will also have the opportunity to volunteer for tax consultation visits to ensure they are reporting properly.
To register, or for more information, call 253/593-2722, or visit the departments Web site at: dor.wa.gov.
